doodles – syntheid

Saw Loish do a redraw thing of her old art from 2004, and kinda wanted to do one myself to see how I’ve improved… so I did this doodle of my OC Asher in a dress (he does not usually cross-dress). (No refs, because lazy.)

Tried following Doro’s technique which was a lot of fun. I’ll probably tweak some things for next time, but I like how it turned out anyway. I know there are things I could push further/fix, but it’s just a thing for myself that I got what I wanted out of working on, so I’m calling it done.

Just messing around with Manga Studio 5 trying to figure out how it works. I have yet to really feel comfortable with the way it colors, but for sketching and linework I’m loving it. I’m sure I’ll figure out something that I am okay with for coloring eventually, I’m just still kind of stuck in my PS way of doing things.

Couple quick #doodles of some of my #gw2 chars. I dont understand/like how Sylvari inexplicably have mammalian traits like mammary glands so I wanted to experiment a little with more androgynous looks.

Hey look, I finally finished this set, and also attempted a sketch of Nathaniel that turned out totally wrong, so I’ll have to redo it.

Finally stopped being (as much of a) bum and hooked up my scanner again to get the last image. Nathaniel and Ticket were meant to be for the OC Meme answers, but I wasn’t entirely happy with anything that came out for either of them since… I’d never drawn Ticket before ever, and have only drawn Nathaniel once. So I’ll still do those meme answers… later.

Whenever I rewatch or reread this scene, it cracks me up, because (spoilers?) his grandparents don’t exist. But he doesn’t know this, so I wonder what he thinks happens, really. Does Yue take over and do things and he just assumes his grandparents did them when he wasn’t around? Because that is a fantastic image. But basically it means his “It’s okay, my grandmother changed you (so I wasn’t being a creep, I swear)” is actually totally untrue, because there are only two options there: him or Yue.
