Even though I meant to start working on a holiday card, in fact I ended up working on this instead. I want to say I will actually finish this before December, but as you can see, I have been working on redrawing this since 2005. There’s actually maybe four progress shots between the original 2005 and the final 2007 lineart that are missing; I dunno what I did with those files.

Anyway, it’s a little weird since it really is kind of my artist evolution wrapped up in a single painting, starting from my original terrible anatomy and stiff lineart, to the better lineart and moderately better anatomy, and the ways that I’ve learned to use color and develop my own style, to some extent. I suppose at this point I use it a little as a weird litmus test for where I’ve grown, since I find different things to fix every time I work on it. Though really. I do plan on finishing it pretty soon. Hopefully.
